This book is a collection of essays and translations of the history of the Deccan and Awadh for the period 1193-1976. The essays cover a wide range of topics which include the portrayal of the poetic rivalries of the Persian and Urdu poets and the Holi and Diwali celebrations of the Nawabs of Awadh based on the contemporary sources. The translations included here are the travel account of Ghaffar Khan and two rare Persian manuscripts of Ghani Ahmad. These two Persian books also throw new light on the Nawabs and Kings of Awadh.
