Afsana Chaudhary is a self-made woman, who started working at an NGO at the age of 22, where she was trained to make handmade beadwork along with some other women. She came from a very conservative environment, a resident of Salai village, Hapur but she soon moved to Mumbai and got trained as a designer with the support of her father. Aagaz is an Urdu word which means the beginning or start of something, a feeling of self-dependence. Currently, she is working with around 60 women under Aagaz.
Even during these hard times, the women at Aagaz are trying their best to work in every way possible. They're going to be a part of the festival this year, come visit their store to buy their beautifully crafted beaded bangles.
