Afghan jewellery, alternatively known as Kuchi jewellery. originated from the Kuchi nomads in Afghanistan primarily from the Ghilji tribal confederacy. Afghan Kuchi jewellery is distinguished on the basis of whether the pieces are made of costly materials, imported pieces, or made of beads. These are generally worn on special occasions like Nikaah (marriage). Kaarigars work on this craft in their homes, with their family members.
