Vankar Parbat Kanji is a master weaver from Kutch ,he was inspired to create some amazing silk-wool shawls and stoles in earth and indigo tones. He has learnt a lot about crafts from over 40 countries around the world, but still has great faith in the arts and skills of the Indian craftsman. The design language of a craft lives in its motifs and by finding new expressions for them, the artisan ensures they will live on.

Kutch shawls are usually rectangular in shape with the traditional symmetrical motifs once used on the dhablo with hand embroidery mirror work made by craftsmen and women artisans. The shawls are generally worn in winters which cover the upper body that brings warmth to the body. They are also worn for complimenting the costume and it brings an elegant appearance together. There are several kinds of shawls woven in different fiber materials. Wool, silk, cotton are natural fiber materials and acrylic, synthetic threads are artificial fiber materials. Women of the house contribute a large part in this craft by doing all the things required for the craft apart from weaving and dying like, spinning the yarn, making the warp, applying starch, fringes making and many more. There are also different forms of making a shawl like crochet, knitting, and weaving. They make different varieties of Kutch shawls and stoles which can be worn around the neck for men and wrap around shoulders for women. Size may vary from standard to customized based on orders.
