Ruth has many path breaking concepts in chikankari embroidery to her credit. She started her chikan business in 2003 because of personal interest and also because she wanted to improve the quality of chikan work that was available in the market.

Her USP has been to use traditional chikan embroidery on non-traditional fabrics such as chanderi, kota cotton, mangalgiri, tangail etc. Traditionally, chikan was summer wear with a cool white on white embroidery.  To sustain the artists in the winter months she started experimenting with chikan embroidery on winter fabrics such as silk, tussar and wool. As she created this new concept, she had to convince the artisan to work on the new fabric and then persuade the customer to buy the finished product. 

She embroiders traditional garments and has a large range of domestic products.  She also works with superfine khadi which has a beautiful transparency.
