Tarannum Chikankari was started by Taranuum. They provide a high range and fine quality of Chikankari work. She learnt chikankari embroidery from her mother and has been in this craft field for 23 years now. She is married to a zardozi worker who has left his own profession and joined hands with his wife’s work. She started her own work on a small scale level, but grew after taking a loan of Rs 80,000. The loan has been repaid and her limit stands at Rs 3,00,000 now.

Tarannum has created an organization of about 800 artisans from villages around Lucknow. Many artisans whom she has taught the finer points of chikankari embroidery herself. From among these women artisans  she has selected a few forward skilled artisans who act as intermediaries between herself and the workers and through whom work is distributed and collected from the villages. 

Tarannum manages the quality control by making personal visits to the workers homes and providing proper guidance. Her son has also joined her business and she has also started exhibiting her products at all prestigious places in the metros.
