The Habaspuri is an endangered textile made in Kalahandi district. For its uniqueness in design, it has been identified as one of the Geographical Indicators. Tarini is working on it as it is close to extinction. The Ikat of Sambalpur region is an extraordinary creation known as bandha kala. The visionary craftsmen creates symbolic imageries depicting evolution, nature of civilization and the cultural values of society that are divine and highly spiritual.  Kotpad handloom is eco-friendly and uses non-toxic natural dyeing process that makes the fabric antibacterial and is incredibly soft on the fabric. Natural dyes are extracted from the roots of Madder (Aal) tree, which grows in the Kotpad area. It takes about 15 to 30 days for the threads to be dyed making the process long and tedious.
