Bhairavi’s Chikan is led by Mamta Verma and her amazing group of women artisans. Bhairavi’s Chikan has been making the finest traditional chikankari embroidery for three decades. Their vision is to create, revive, preserve and honor chikankari stitches, motifs and craftsmanship.
Bhairavi’s craftswomen enjoy the freedom to experiment with the different embroidery stitches integral to this craft and thus give vent to their creative expression. They use custom handwoven fabrics resourced from all corners of the country while some of their products find beauty on mill-made cloth. They love making garments for men and women and also make home-linen.
Some of the garments and home-linen are heirlooms which may be passed on from one generation to the next. Chikankari is a delicate and artfully done hand embroidery on a variety of textile fabrics like muslin, silk, chiffon, organza, net, etc. White thread is embroidered on cool, pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments.
