In Chhattisgarh State 42 tribes and 07 primitive tribes reside, who have special traditional clothes. Tribal weaves and motifs are revived by Handloom Federation and marketing authentic Oraon, Baiga and Baster weaves, the rest are at various stages of production. Apart from this, traditional clothes in the state are Lodhi sarees, Shanti Rani, Sarabandh etc. The motifs available in the old temples and monuments of the state have also been translated into garments by Federation designers. In addition to this, handlooms are also producing saris and other fabrics by using threads other than Tussar silk and cotton. In addition, local crafts such as Marwahi Embroidery, Godana Art etc. are being promoted in sarees and dupattas.
