Buta is a social enterprise providing sustainable livelihoods to the traditional women weavers of Assam. From its very inception, Buta has been backed and armoured by many strong women weavers. The women are the pillars of the team. The founders of the team are Angasikha Gogoi and Wazbeer Hussain.

Buta, a word of Assamese origin, means small delicate flowers, traditionally woven. Buta specializes in local resources to weave stoles, sarees, curtains and cushion covers intricately woven with traditional Assamese motifs on traditional looms.
