District Barabanki is around 40 kms east of the state capital, Lucknow, close to the popular pilgrimage shrines of Deva Sarif and Basa Sharif. Baragoan Weaves was inspired by the quaint village of Baragaon and the life of the weavers there and began with the aim of assisting weavers in distress. 

Their ambition is to provide just and dignified wages, keeping handlooms fashionable and exclusive, all the while expanding the market for handloom products. Their inspiration is the complex craft of handloom weaving and the skill of the weavers. The challenge is to make a niche and stop the exploitation of weavers in the current scenario of mechanisation. Their traditional product range includes yardage for shirts and kurtas, gamchas and the houndstooth scarves used by men. Since 2013, the product range has expanded to include sarees, yardages for menswear as well as womenswear, dupattas, fashionable stoles and scarves.
